At Pacific Wall Systems, part of our sustainable building practice includes recycling our scrap wood so it doesn’t end up in a landfill. Everyday, we haul many bins full of this wood out to the road at our plant; which is free for the taking. Many folks in this community depend on it as their only heat source in the winter. In summer, it is used for campfires and small projects such as planters, birdhouses, and yes, toys such as this truck. What we didn’t know was that for the last several years one person has been making these toys for the children’s wards in our local hospitals from the scrap wood… Our hats off to you Jim-and thanks for our truck!
